TDP jolted as ex-MLA switches loyalty to Jagan

Migration of top Telugu Desam leaders of Chittoor district into YSR Congress is worrying the party cadres as Naidu belongs to the same district.

Chittoor: In a major setback to TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu, former Vayalapadu TDP legislator Chin tala Ramachandra Reddy is expected to switch his loyalties to YSRCP chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy in a couple of days.

Ramachandra Reddy had already met Jagan in Chanchalaguda jail and agreed to join the latter’s party. The migration of top leaders into YSRCP is worrying the TDP cadres as Naidu hails from the district. After MLA N Amaranata Reddy of Palamaner and Thamballapalli legislator Praveen Kumar Reddy’s ditch to TDP, Ramachandra Reddy jolted the party prospects by meeting Jagan in the jail.

From the last two months, TDP has lost top leaders including GV Srinatha Reddy, Imitiaz and now it’s the turn for Ramachandra Reddy.
Keeping in view of the leaders’ exodus into YSRCP in his home district, Chandrababu has appointed J Srinivasulu as district TDP chief by replacing Mahadeva Naidu though a group of TDP leaders opposed Naidu’s move. Naidu might have expected that Srinivasulu would curb TDP leaders’ migrations into other parties.

But Ramachadra Reddy’s sudden decision to left the party without revealing any substantial reason, which may raise doubts over the performance of Srinivasulu. Reliable sources in TDP said that another two former TDP legislators of the district are likely to join YSRCP soon. Speaking to The Hans India here on Thursday, district TDP chief J Srinivasulu said that migration of TD leaders into YSRCP would not affect the party.

“The charisma of Chandrababu would sweep the polls and there is no doubt of it. If once TD returns to power, the migration of the leaders from other parties into TD would start. TD leaders left the party with a notion that the new party would perform well in the polls. A day is very near to witness YSRCP’s merger in Congress,” he added.
